» shocking video from Dave Perkins
Here it is, on video, exactly the sort of thing that makes Dems say the war is lost and makes newspapers and magazines print stories of abuses by our soldiers, the evil occupiers and oppressors of the poor innocent Iraqi civilians. No doubt about it,... [Read More]

» イラク従軍記者便り: 生まれ変わるハイファ通り from In the Strawberry Field
[Read More]
I wonder how those kids lives were under the thumb of Saddam Hussein.
I'm sure they are well-off now, thanks to our troops.

If we went to war for oil, then how come we haven't started taking any free oil yet? And how come the market price is so !@#@$$%^& high?
If we did go to war for oil, we forgot to steal the oil. Bet the dems wouldn't have forgotten to steal something...
BTW the package we recently agreed to was to sell the saudis some weapons. Don't think that's military aid, more like commerce. GIVING the weapons is aid.
No middle class in Israel? Ever been there?
Minneapolis bridge collapse update for Dems, who are always the last to know--
Minnesota got 30% MORE highway money in '06 than in '05. PLENTY for bridgefixing. The fact that the state ignored the MinDOT recommendations doesn't make it Bush's fault.

Devil Dog, you are a tool. I would love to pick that feeble brain of yours.

Get ready to hear "crumbling infrastructure" about 49 million times until next year's election.
I was wondering what my liberal friends would think of this heartwarming video if I sent them a link. Devil Dog saved me the trouble.

as to the bridge collaps, Minnesota is spending one billion dollars to build a new stadium for the Twins. If they have the money for that they have the money to keep up their bridges. Blaming the federal government is pure partisanship. We did not create Saddam in the 80's. That is pure myth. The money and intelligence we gave Saddam was a drop in the bucket. It has been used to beat the Conservatives over the head by liberals, but when examined it is quite small.

Devil Dog must have that rant saved on Mommy's computer, I swear I've seen it word for word before. Guess that saves time. I wish DD was right about the oil, let's take it, and take the Saudi's oil too.

Iraqi children are so beautiful.
I'm sure that you're not letting the pinheads get you down.

Steve-o & birdhurd -
It was Doug Brown, our lovely 'friend' leaving links re: Sanchez's 'work history' & other slurs, who began all this negative ranting, not Devil Dog.
I agree. Even as angry as I can get, I never resort to this kind of blind hatred. I felt optimism for those kids...they look happy.
Doug Brown -
The hatred you spew forth is just vile. I don't think any of us here appreciate slurs like the ones you type & link. Disgusting.
Grow up...and that's not implying you're young. You could be in you 40's or 50's, for all I care. But you still vent like a juvenile.

I was really pleased to see the US soldier handing out candy to the kids. We've already won the military battle -- we did that over five years ago when we sent a group of people about the size of the New York City Police Department to the other side of the Earth and marched on the capital of another nation within 20 days of landing on their soil. We've done all of that with fewer Military deaths than through natural causes during the Clinton Administration, (this is not a criticism of Clinton, just a fact to illustrate a point,) and we've held the ground for 5 years -- including Afganistan, which was a feat that the Soviets could not accomplish being right next door.
In return, we've asked for nothing from Iraq which is how it should be.
Point is, I'm glad they are starting to work on winning hearts. Good work Matt -- keep it up!

Terrorists in the making. They should all be taken to Abu Gahrib, or doubled-Guantanomo before they kill our troops

Matthew,
You were ambushed by the Future of Iraq, and they aren't terrorists! What a gift it had to be for you, and it is truly a gift for America to see. Carry on, Matt.
God is with you and Iraq.

Hey, COLDBORE, I am for the Iraq war in case you read my post incorrectly.
By the way, why don't you make your email available for comment. I guess hit and run comments are your schtick!

I remember this story about a 60-some year old North Korean man, who escaped to the South. I tried googling this story, but I couldn't find it. One of the first things he did was go to an American military base to re-connect with his beloved Marines. During the Korean War, this man at the time was a boy, who had been adopted by Marines for whom he did chores. He identified himself as a Marine for his entire life, Semper Fideles. With these kids, you never know how this friendship will pay off in the future. Millions of Germans remember the "Rosinenbomber" from the Berlin Airlift. Pilots would drop boxes of raisins and chocolates on their approach over West Berlin.Americans just love kids, so the soldiers couldn't do any different, if they wanted to.
