War between Berkeley and Marines: First POWs!!
In the beautiful Bay Area protesters chained themselves to the Berkeley Marine Corps recruiting station in order to prove a point--the point that media attention is a drug that make people act really silly when they know the cameras are rolling.
The war between Peace Protestors and those sworn to uphold the Constitution has heated up, as the first prisoners of war are begging to be detained. They even came in their own orange jumpsuits.
Unfortunately, someone should explain to the World Can't Wait crowd that you're supposed to actually put up a fight before surrendering. And even then, you'll need to have some type of value to be taken prisoner, otherwise these guys are no different than the many homeless sleeping on Telegraph Street.
Do the Berkeley police use tazers?
It's war between Code Pink protesters and the pro-troops organization, Move America Forward, after the Berkeley city council declared the Marine Corps to be "unwelcome intruders".
"I believe in the Code Pink
cause. The Marines don't belong here, they shouldn't have come here,
and they should leave," said Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates.
βIt is disgraceful that in the birthplace of the Free Speech Movement, anti-military activists would attempt to silence the same military men and women who serve this country and give their lives to protect the free speech rights of all Americans, including these ungrateful and despicable people on the Berkeley City Council,β said Melanie Morgan, Chairman of Move America Forward.
In a separate item, the council
voted, also 8-1, to give protest group Code Pink a parking space in
front of the recruiting office once a week for six months and a free
sound permit for protesting once a week.
Still
no word as to why the Marine Corps, of all services, has been singled
out, but it's nice to know the people of Berkeley would consider
Marines a bigger threat.

Berkeley is retarded. The Berkeley City Council granted a parking spot in front of the Marine Recruiting Center to be used by anti-military activists to harass Marine recruiters. The anti-military activists would not need to apply for a sound permit for the next six months β allowing them free reign to disrupt the day-to-day operations by the Marines. Oh how great is this! Better yet, why not grant the Marines that same lot to be their permit-free target practice.

Ah, the Peoples Republic of Berkeley! The Marine's should be honored since city government there NEVER gets it right.
This is simply fringe silliness. Where was Sean Penn?

Good Commentary Matt Sanchez. Everyone should get on the phone with Berkeley City Council or write their U. S.
Congressmen and ask " Whose side is Berkeley on? Is it the U.S. side or al - Qaeda's
side ?
I never met a Marine I didn't like.
I'm proud of them and I'd do anything to defend their good name.
MARINES ARE WELCOME IN THE U.S.
This is a sad day for the people of California. Let's move on this. SUPPORT THE TROOPS. WRITE NOW.
Defend the good name of the few and the proud.
Get on the phone with Steve, Robert and Manuel and remind them that you are digusted with BCC decision to DIS the U.S.M.C.
Let's CTC here. Cut the Nonsense. Tell these three gentlemen that you're going to do something about this, if they won't !
Shame on Berkeley .
